This I promise you

I promise I'll make this blog more than just a bunch of outfit posts in the near future!

I'm preparing for (I hope) some exciting posts, and they (believe it or not) take time, so for the time being, another outfit post will just have to do.

I've been spending a lot of my days lately with my friend Julia, as we both have a lot of free times on our hands now. We went out tonight for some dinner at the new Bourke Street branch of Killiney Kopitiam. It's fast becoming one of my favourite places for a meal, because the menu is filled with simple and familiar dishes and the venue itself is pretty cosy to sit in for an hour or two with friends and family.

Chambray shirt: Target | Trench coat: Mango | Skinny jeans: Uniqlo
Red loafers: Hush Puppies | Bag: Cartier

I have to say, these loafers are my proudest buys in the longest time.

Yes, I will gloat, thank you very much.

I bought them when I was in Hamburg last year (you know what they say, geographic purchases are more meaningful); they were the last pair in the shop and just so happened to be my size; they're comfortable from the get-go; and they only cost me 20.

I had that moment where I thought if I didn't snap them up, I was certifiably nuts.

Hey, Melbourne!

Yo!

Flannel shirt: Marks & Spencer | Jeans: Acne | Slingbacks: Rubi Shoes

I went out today to catch up with a friend visiting from Indonesia, and I'm honestly a little bit pleased with myself for taking her to places that in my head are very Melbourne. Okay, so the place I picked for lunch is Mexican (Paco's Tacos), but there's something about chowing down tacos under the sun surrounded by an eclectic mix of people that's very Melbourne.

Then for coffee, we went to the Queen Street branch of Little Cupcakes. And that, yet again, I think is very Melbourne. At the end of the day, even I felt like I was a visitor to this fine city.

On a relatively different note (but still on the topic of Melbourne), has anyone else heard that Uniqlo is set to open here at the end of next year? Though the Asian part of me - the one that always wants to have the latest at the earliest convenience - is not so thrilled about the fact it'll only be here at the end of 2013, I still feel excited about it!
